Over the last two months we've seen the real estate market adapt to the new reality of COVID-19. Our team adopted new practices to protect the public, while also serving the needs of our clients.
But how has Ottawa's real estate market fared? Well, we've been busy!
Take a look at the rate of new listings entering Ottawa's market this year compared to the same period in 2019. You'll notice that fewer sellers listed their homes this Spring.

Fewer homes on the market has kept prices strong, because demand among motivated buyers is still very much present. The way we show homes has very much changed and keeps changing -- gloves, masks, sanitation, virtual tours, drive-by viewings, and digital feature sheets have replaced some aspects of the selling/buying process, but we still go above and beyond to meet our clients' needs. Every week things are adapting to the new norm.
Take a look at price trends over the past few weeks. You'll notice that the average sale price in 2020 has actually exceeded that of 2019, in part due to low inventory and continued strong demand.

For now, our team continues to list homes and work with buyer clients to find the perfect home for them. We remain optimistic that Ottawa will experience a typical "Spring market," likely in late summer. Our Annual Client Appreciation Event
This is normally the time of year when we would send out invitations to our annual Ice Cream Social at Dairy Queen, to celebrate the end of the school year and the start of summer. Unfortunately we will not be hosting the event this year, out of caution for the health of our clients and our team. Ottawa real estate holds on while other cities slump, report says
Real-estate markets all over the country are slumping, except Ottawa’s, a report from the Real Estate Investment Network says. Ottawa is at the beginning to the middle of a boom, said the report, which assesses 16 indicators, including employment, net migration, vacancy rates, affordability and number of days to sell, as well as market influencers.
