Stittsville is a community located immediately to the southwest of Kanata, and about 31 km west of Downtown Ottawa.
Since the extension of the Queensway in the 1970s made travel from Ottawa quicker and easier, Stittsville has experienced rapid growth; it transformed from a quiet farming community of under 500 people to a suburb of over 25,000. Many residents are employed in Ottawa‘s high-tech industry or the federal government. The Main Street still has the charm of a small town combined with modern day shops. Some restaurants in the area include The Glen (famous for their fish and chips) and Cabotto's (classic Italian fare).
Sub-neighbourhoods of Stittsville include Amberwood Village; Bryanston Gate; Crossing Bridge; Deer Run; Fairwinds; Forest Creek; Fringewood; Granite Ridge; Jackson Trails; Old Stittsville; Timbermere; Westwind Farms, and Wyldewood.
Stittsville is home to the Tanger Outlets, Ottawa's first outlet mall. It is also convenient to the Canadian Tire Center, home to the Ottawa Senators! This venue also hosts many concerts and events throughout the year.
